As we approach the end of 2023, it has been a tremendous year of progress and new experiences for the Willem Hooft Foundation.
Our first international sit-kitesurfing adventure took place in Egypt, where we not only had fantastic experiences, but also gained valuable insights, especially in the realm of training and instruction.
Over the past years, the Foundation has dedicated itself to learning everything about safely offering sit-kite lessons. This journey has been incredibly enlightening so far. Our goal is to make sit-kitesurfing accessible to as many people as possible, not only in the Netherlands and Europe but globally. After all, who doesn’t dream of experiencing sit-kiting in tropical conditions, whether on vacation or as a beginner eager to learn?
To achieve this, we are diligently working on lesson and training programs. Our aim is to have the sit-kitesurfing training program internationally recognized by the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO). We organize events where participants can learn sit-wakeboarding and sit-kitesurfing. Additionally, we train existing kitesurfing instructors to become specialized sit-kite instructors, providing safe and responsible sit-kitesurfing lessons.
Our plan is to equip various kitesurfing schools with the right materials, knowledge, and experience. We aspire for sit-kitesurfing, currently an exception, to become the norm.
The plans for 2024 are in full swing, and we are incredibly excited! Are you ready as well?
